Wild Turkey

Meleagris gallopavo

A group (or rafter if you want to use the right word) of 11 turkeys walking towards some cover in the trees as we passed by.

They were walking around in a field next to a forest until we passed by, then they all quickly started trotting towards the woods. Edge of a residential area and woods and cypress swamp

Tukup a year ago

You just have to wonder what it is about a camera that makes animals flee 😊 Nice shots though. Do you know if they were re-introduced or if there has always been turkeys there? Most I know of in the Midwest have been re-introduced, but once that's done, they are doing great. Thanks Machi.,
