Tylopilus sp.

Description:

The largest ones had a cap size of around 4 inches. Caps were brown, pores cream/white, stipe brown. The pores bruised slightly when I wrote on them.

Spotted growing on the ground off a trail in a deciduous forest. There were at least 20 of them within a 15 foot area – in various states (some small, some partially eaten/rotting).
