POR FIN!! Finally!! Since the beginning of the month of November...26 days! This gorgeous Moth flies in groups on top of my home and garden, never stopping...last night this one did... on the front entrance by the glass doors and now I can see how beautiful they are.

Excelente! Conocida como colipato. Tengo entendido que las migraciones masivas se dan cada 5 a 6 años ya que las larvas de estas mariposas se alimentan de un tipo de planta que aumenta gradualmente su toxicidad hasta el punto en que las larvas ya no la pueden comer y deben de migrar.
Cada año veo menos y me duele mucho ver la enorme cantidad de colipatos que mueren aplastadas en las vías. http://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57...

Wow Gilma, that was such a lucky shot. I think this is the same one that I saw flying around, but never stopping. Lovely to get a close look at it.

Every time I have spotted (got to take a picture) some of the ones that just fly by and never stop, I scream with happiness!! I have my eyes set on a few...that never...stop and hope to get some pictures...some day!! : (

Haha..I was reading your message and I cannot feel any more identified! I often see very nice butterflies but to have them stop in a place is for some species a very lucky sight. I then double-congratulate you for being able to finally catch a beautiful spotting of this beauty! :-)

Adarsha, I am trying to find out what the difference is between mine and the one that has white tips at the bottom of the long wings...the rest of the Moth is identical?! Do you know ?
