Suillus sp. (poss. S. americanus)

Description:

Golden yellow cap and sporing structure with pores rather than gills, also yellow.

Habitat:

Associated with exotic pine trees.

Notes:

Prolific but only under pines The insect seems to be a moth larva

Yes Emma, they are very similar. There may be some better local knowledge for my spotting but its genus is good for us novices.

Thanks Emma. I recall only plain white stems but some mottling is seen on the stem of the next pic just loaded. I will go back for a more detailed look.

Martini ,i saw a bolete ,a little similar to your s under the trees.

Only difference i see is that the stem does not seem to have a veined veil.
Do you remember seeing that?
