South African Giraffe

Giraffa camelopardalis giraffa

Description:

The South African giraffe, has rounded or blotched spots, some with star-like extensions, running down to the hooves. the Giraffe is classified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as Least Concern, but has been extirpated from many parts of its former range, and some subspecies are classified as Endangered.

Yes! 7 vertebrae in the neck. This is the reason why they are so vulnerable when drinking.

Nice spotting ! did you know number of neck bones in giraffe and humans
are same.
