Seen by the river in Townsville CBD. I'm not sure if the cormorant is making a display of aggression towards the egret or just stretching its wings. These birds were on the same tree as the ibis in this spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/987...
LOL!!!! : ) I am quietly chuckling here ......... I would probably think the same but have some recent spottings of Cormorants on my page
OMG, disregard my last comment... I can't believe how DUMB I am. I have been looking at these pics for days now and have been seeing the egret's legs as though they are attached to the cormorant!!!! No wonder I couldn't ID it!!!!
The long legs belong to the Great Egret : ) It's the angle of your photo that has deceived you
That's what I thought initially Viv, but don't cormorants have short legs? (They seem to in all the pics I looked up.)
