@António, thanks for that wonderful link. I love the aqua of the female firefly's head--very interesting! The general shape seems much similar to mine!

@Ashish: Thanks, I wasn't sure which. Maybe I will submit it to BugGuide. Small Wonders thinks it is a firefly larvae, and I will look into that more deeply. I am also not sure if it is a species of glow worm, though. The female glowworm looks similar, but not exact. What does the male glowworm look like?

@Leuba: Thanks for your comment! Do you think it is a glow worm?

@Leuba Female Glowworms are bigger in length and give look of a Larva.

Okay, Thanks Ashish!!

Thanks chimestan!! I was thinking the general armor shape was the same, so I was thinking glow worm no that you changed yours, but I'm not ever sure now.

Ashish, is Firecracker Larvae a firefly or a glow worm? Thanks again!

jgorneau, i don't think our spotting match to their exact details. For example, the sharp edges or lateral protrusions is more pronounced in your spotting's pic. Even the anterior shield shape doesn't match. so your's might be of different species. Even i have to check for adults of the glow-worm as per Tyler's instructions to confirm the species. :)

Its Firecracker Larvae as per link you saw on Chime's spotting of Bug guide website what had referred American Arthropods.

These are tricky... possibly Pyractomena sp., but that would be a guess at most.
You may want to check BugGuide for further identification help http://bugguide.net/node/view/85 :)
