Tricrania sanguinipennis
Found this bug smooshed on some stairs. Stepped on. I don't see this kind often. What is it?
Emory University campus
Looks just like it. Thanks!
It is difficult to tell being so smushed, but the leathery appearance of the elytra and the fact that they do not seem to cover the abdomen suggests Blister Beetle. Tricrania sanguinipennis looks like a good candidate.http://bugguide.net/node/view/93509
