Boa constrictor
The snakes Boas are medium to large, reaching up to 4m long. Is cylindrical, slightly compressed at the sides, showing its strong constrictor muscle. They eat mostly birds and small and medium-sized mammals that kill by constriction. His pupil vertical characterizes them as nocturnal animals, although the practice shows that also have daytime activities. They can have up to 50 pups are born between November and February, already fully formed, and therefore a viviparous (oviparous or depending on the author). There is much folklore surrounding the pythons. In some regions of Brazil, his head is cut and used as a paste, in order to "close the body," protecting the individual against a number of ailments and "evil eye".
