Carduelis chloris
In full breeding plumage, male is very bright yellow-green but for most of year colours are duller; female has grey-green plumage and juvenile is streaked. All birds show yellow wing patches and have yellow rumps and side to tail. Bill pinkish and conical, used for feeding on seeds.
Favours wooded terrain with plenty of open ground for feeding. Widespread resident throughout the Mediterranean.
Last two photos in series are of a female.
