Aster

Asteraceae

Description:

I am not sure which of the 600 varieties of Aster this one is. These lovely flowers are now growing wild around our site in Turkey, but I think they may originally have been garden plants. The flower heads are about 3 inches across and have 3 layers of petals and close up when the sun goes down.
