European Hedgehog

Erinaceus europaeus

Description:

this is one of the hedgehogs who live at the bird rescue center (bird/hedgehog rescue). most hedgehogs are brought in because they are weak. Now at the start of spring they can go back to wild. But we have to wait till there are more snails outside, because they need them to have enough food. Normally hedgehog hibernate in winter but the weak ones stay awake by holding them in a warm area. if they are to weak they will never wake up out of there hibernation. now we have to wait till the snails show up and we can but them back.
