Smoky-eye Boulder Lichen

Description:

Crustose lichen. Up to 12 inches diameter. Gray-green, with an indistinct margin. Apothecia sessile, ca. 3 mm in diameter; prominent; lecanorine (Plate-shaped with a dark, narrow, marginal ring). Disks dark gray with a slight metallic purple-brown sheen.

Habitat:

Growing on boulders on east side of Orange Trail.
