American Tree Sparrow

Spizella arborea

Habitat:

My apartment is situated on the border of a forest and near wetland. This little guy was perching in a hanging basket of chives I just put out. There's a bird feeder nearby.

I actually think it is the American tree sparrow. This is a really excellent picture, by the way, plenty of detail to analyze and get the ID. One key is the beak, check out the two different colors.
