I saw this kind of formation in trees in several diferent places in Switzerland,i dont know if it's natural or is some invasive plant? the two last photos are taken in country side,i put them to ilustrat what i mean by see it in several places

I read this on the link you gave me Auntnance

so the Druids have some reason in considered this plant sacred :)

It looks like mistletoe which is a parasite.
