A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Nice work Lori, that's some good macro photography. And good on you for providing the link about their issues as feral animals.
Took a while to find out, but I reckon it's a Canary Worm - predatory (round) flatworms. Wouldn't normally have found them but the rainforest was in a drought so they had gathered on stones in the creek.
Growing out of soil, but very rich in fine organic matter on the surface
Ha ha, I'm a big nerd too. Got really excited today when I received the results of my backyard vegie patch soil test. So high in organic carbon and most nutrients, compared to all the farm tests I've seen, just low in Boron.
Yeah, colour was a real surprise - never seen purple fungi before. Anyway, thanks to Lori for trying the ID. What do you do in Tas to be so keen on this? I'm a NRM pro, based in Launceston. That's half my excuse.
Cool, love those. Used to have lots in my yard when I lived on a small property just outside of Alice Springs.
Thanks! I thought it was a bit blurry, late in afternoon and no tripod
