Not to be the odd man out, but I'm terrified of spiders and I think my first reaction putting a spider on my hand would be to cry, not grab my camera. Kudos to your bravery for handling such a vicious specimen!
It is a Salty. He's a cutie, great spotting.
I'm jealous of you for being a NT resident Stacey, I want to live there very badly for this exact reason. I love these animals and got to go on this boat cruise as well; seeing them jump is outstanding. Great shot!
It's a hummingbird but I can't figure out what kind :(
This crocodile, and others we saw on the cruise, jumped out of the water to obtain a piece of meat being held from a rod by a crew member of the boat. So this behavior was provoked. But it is a natural behavior; crocodiles use this jumping method (by synchronizing their tail and limb movements in a wriggling motion) to grab at birds and bats and any other potential prey in low hanging tree branches.
These croc pics I got on a boat cruise on the Adelaide River, an hour outside Darwin, in the Northern Territory.
