Looks more like a lycosid to me.
It's some sort of linyphiid. Neriene is just a suggestion.
That's a nice looking specimen. I once lived in a flat that had these in - fascinating to watch them.

Yes, I agree Argiope sp. would be safer. If you want to submit it that's fine - if not then I'll do it later.
There are lots of Argiope species. I think this one is lobata but I'm not sure.
Interesting. It seems a hazardous lifestyle - I wonder if the Argyrodes ever get eaten.
Yes, I thought U. cirsii was the most likely but i wasn't sure.
Oh sorry, it sounds like a weird problem you're having. Noah's works OK for me and I use Firefox through Windows 8, if that helps.
I wonder if they're going to have a forum where we can discuss problems like this eventually. Or maybe they already have, I probably haven't explored it fully yet.
