I don't believe it is a Kestrel either; too big and no stripes on face. I'm thinking a juvenile Red Shoulder? Difficult without size
It's an Azalea, but cannot tell you the type.
Ruby crowned is my best guess. Poured over my filed guide for an hour.
These are ladybug (ladybird) chyrsalides (pupa). Not sure what species however.

It could be a female Downy or Hairy, but leaning on the Downy just because the bill might be more prominent and easier to see if it were a Hairy. Just a theory. :)
