Thanks for the suggestion taka, I think you're probably right although it's very difficult to tell from the images on that site. I have no idea to species level. :-)
Thanks Karen, we were actually attempting to track a lioness at the time but then this beautiful cheetah appeared in the grass. The first and only time I've seen one in the wild, not the best view in some ways but it was great to see it in its natural environment. :-)
Thanks for the species ID Atul!
Thanks all, they flit from nest to nest and constantly flap their wings whilst they hang upside down so it took a bit of patience but they were great birds to watch so I really wanted to get a nice shot of them. :-)
Thanks Karen. :-)
Do you happen to know the species? I'd really like to know.
Thanks all.
C.Sydes - Yes I think they will probably take a look at other food opportunities. I've also been suspicous of them at least sampling a bit of meat. I put some bait out for carnivores and set a camera trap recently, I did get a jackal or two but most of the footage was warthogs and they seemed pretty interested in the chicken guts. :-)
I had meant to add that sadly nyala's are classified as endangered on the IUCN Red List with as few as 2,500 individuals remaining.
Thanks! It was great to see him.
How lovely :)
