I've seen South Polar Skuas/Brown Skuas (very difficult to tell apart as they both coexist at this location), Elephant Seals, Gentoo Penguins, Southern Giant Petrels, Wilson's Storm petrels, Antarctic Terns, and other people have seen the occasional chinstrap penguin. Minke whales and orcas were seen but at a great distance.

I did, too! I managed to spot one in the upper canopy, and it was extremely well-camouflaged. Between the coatis and the tayras, the leafcutter ants, it's a biologist heaven.

The mustard white butterfly is not native to Mexico, are you sure you saw this species in Mexico? Also notable, this genus, Pieris, is a confusing one. My identification may not be exact. But of all of the species and notable subspecies in the genus, the Mustard White most closely resembled this specimen.

Beautiful find! And a unique genus.

I visited Costa Rica a number of years ago. What an experience! You are truly blessed to live there!

These have to be among the most interesting birds, how awesome. Almost like an extension of the tree itself
