the_tajminator,

I suspect the good folks at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum treat him to an excellent, well-balanced diet. http://www.desertmuseum.org/

This is one of the best outdoor museums I've attended. I am fortunate to be a member and visit frequently. The volunteer docents and entire staff are wonderful people and the organization provides and uniquely wonderful experience for visitors.

I appreciate your comments!

Regards,
Emily

Have you seen any Sonoran Desert Toads this year?

With the first rain rolling through Tucson, I'm already wondering what I might see if I go out and take a look. I always get excited by the monsoons. Any recommendations for where to watch wildlife during the monsoons?

Thank you! Emily

I used Adobe Photoshop CS3. My favorite free program is Zoner Photo Studio 13. I took a RAW and large JPEG photo of the image (which was already cropped above), so I was able to get more detail in the photo. It was just a tough shot to take because it was a very bright day and the cat was hiding under the ledge.

My email is the same as my user name on project noah at gmail.com.

I don't want to post my full email address (to prevent spam from web email scraping tools).

Thank you!

Juan,

Can I have your email address? I'd like to ask you some insect identification questions. I just finished with the National Geographic BioBlitz in Saguaro National Park in Tucson, AZ, USA.

Thank you!

Thanks for helping me out with my identification. I see you are near Tucson. Be sure to google BioBlitz and check out the BioBlitz Mission. October 21-22, National Geographic has chosen the Saguaro National Park for their annual BioBlitz species inventory. You can still sign up for an inventory team.

Thanks JuanDiTrani! Someone else told me it was a termite, but I couldn't find any photos that matched. I can't believe something this scary looking is a cricket! This guy might make me afraid of the dark.
