I've recently been informed that Periclimenes imperator is now classified as Zenopontonia rex. (Ref.: http://www.ruthenica.com/documents/adver...)
This nudibranch has been reclassified from Chromodoris to Goniobranchus.
Hi Arya. Sea anemones are not mollusks -- they're cnidarians. ;)
Apparently it's not always found in mushroom coral, because the coral shown in these pictures is not a mushroom coral species. I've also seen pictures of H. corallicola on similar-looking coral species.
Congrats on your spotting!I'd like to invite you to join the Mollusca mission and submit your nudibranch (and other mollusk) spottings there.
Thanks, matimar1. Where I live, the mantis shrimp isn't really rare. :)
Thanks very much for your help, rafpicardal! :)
Wow!! Thank you for including my frogfish photo in that wonderful article, Karen!
I'm happy to share my photos here. Glad you enjoy them! :)
