Brett Giant Puffball mushroom
Giant Puffball mushroom commented on by Brett Minnesota, USA9 years ago

I recently cooked one of these to mix into spaghetti sauce. It was delicious. As long as the puffball is larger than a softball and at the right stage of growth there shouldn't be any confusion with an inedible lookalike.

Brett Stonefly

Stoneflies emerge from streams early in the spring from openings in the ice on streams and rivers. This one is walking on the snow. The presence of this species indicates a healthy ecosystem.
