Young cottonmouths in this area always have that distinctive pattern with the light and dark banding, but they darken up as they get older.

Thanks AshleyT and Jolly. This snake would be the leucostoma based on range, I just didn't include that as part of the ID.

Unfortunately no abdomen views, didn't want to get that friendly with him :) I figured it was a fishing spider of sorts, but like you I am not sure of the species.

It is a freshwater crayfish. Its hard to say which species of crayfish it is, I'm no good with aquatic inverts. Thanks for the information.
