A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Thank you for the id drP! It was a very beautiful moth. Much bigger than any I see normally out in Alberta, Canada.
Thanks for the ID Apple. That is very cool the they have colour changing abilities!
Very cool, Thanks Goody!I should've recognized that she was an orb weaver, I've mistaken the large abdomen for a possible egg sack previously. I'll set up the tripod for better shots next time.
Thanks Nell, I was disappointed that none of my photos of this flower turned out as sharp as I'd like. Oh well, I'm still learning this photography business.
Thanks all for the compliments, that little guy was throwing me some nice poses which made it easy to get a great photo. Thanks skinheaddave, that's great info! Your research inspired me to conduct some range specific species searches as well. Perhaps the reason it's been difficult to figure out what kind of Chipmunk this is, is because he's in fact a squirrel. Seems to perfectly fit the description of Spermophilus lateralis, the golden-mantled ground squirrel. Your thoughts?
Thanks all! I added a couple more pictures to possibly aid in identification.
Thanks! Lucky for me the cliff zigzagged enough for me to safely get the shot from this angle… though I was somewhat close to the edge.
Thanks, that's exactly what they look like!
