Brian - I'm curious how can you tell this a red bellied snake? I couldn't see any color on it, except the brown. (Though it was a baby).
I saw one of these near Rivermeadow Golf Course in Westbrook Maine last week.
I saw one of these for the first time last year. It was on my hanging petunia plant here in Steep Falls, ME. Neat!
