Sign In to followHooded Merganser id is correct. Common Merganser has light gray sides, not dark gray-brown and does not have a prominent crest, like the Hooded. Common Merganser would be considered a very rare bird in Florida.

Ava, I really like the leaf, too. It adds to the charm and innocence of this youngster. I have to admit I am not a fan of the adult raccoons.
