A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Time on my hands and a camera in my hands allows me to satisfy my greedy curiosity about the world around me.
Thank you, Jakubko! It sure fooled me; I had no idea it was a living organism until it moved!
Thank you, Sergio Monteiro and Jakubko! I have stalked this bug for days now and am very glad to know exactly what it is!
Thank you, Jakubko! Those Japanese Beetles don't have a chance this year with this beast out there! I think I have seen the Robberfly before but had thought it was a Borer Bee. How wrong I was!
Thanks for the suggested ID, FaredinAliyevski. These shots were really bad; I was able to get better ones the next day and should have taken this spotting down. This is definitely a Delmarva Peninsula Fox Squirrel. The ears are more rounded and set further back on the head. The face is more pointed than the Eastern Gray Squirrel. When it came out of the woods, my first thought was that it was a possum because of its pointy face.
Jakubko, I called the color tan but it is more yellow-orange. It definitely is not a bright orange.
Thanks, Jared C! I was 99.99% sure this was an Eastern Bluebird!
Thank you for ID suggestion HeidiEaton. I will update the spotting with this information.
Thank you, Ava T-B! Thank you, also for following me :)
S Frazier: I dropped a mission and picked up this one; I have quite a few spottings that I think fit this mission well. JenniferRoge: the closeup IS cute but, trust me!, I didn't get all that close....the zoom lens caught the shot! EnvUnlimited: the young alligator is added to the mission.
mauna Kunzah.....she posed for me!
