I thought so!! Thank you so much, Despina. You helped to settle a lighthearted disagreement with a friend. :)
Thank you for the ID!!
Thank you for the lead. I believe now it is Dacrymyces palmatus (Orange Jelly) because we found it on a Douglas Fir limb on the forest floor. Tremella mesenterica grows on deciduous wood.
Thank you, Aaron. You are absolutely correct! I've cropped the pictures ... I was just so anxious to take part in the challenge this week and sadly, we haven't been able to capture many snake spottings on camera. They are just too quick for us! :)
Thank you, Reza! I'll update the ID. :)
I received an email this morning that I'd received a new comment on this spotting. I don't see that comment here now. The commenter stated that this was photoshopped and it offended me. I thereby posted the original picture ... in addition to the cropped version that I originally uploaded. Yes, I had cropped it so I suppose it was technically photoshopped but I didn't alter it in any other way. It was taken with an iPhone at 9a.m. In the lowlight of Muir Woods, there was little sunlight reaching the forest floor.
