Sign In to followOnemiJimeno, don't mistake defenses for aggressiveness! I've worked with these guys all summer and most don't even rattle, they try not to even be seen (which they're really good at) This guy I just happened to notice while herping at a stream that he was right next to, and my standing up while he was stretched out in the open 4 feet away triggered his very defensive position. They're really fantastic creatures, hike anywhere in PA and I bet you'll pass one...and probably never know the better.
LisaPowers, I have the Don't Tread on Me flag, I consider it very good advice. KarenL, done! Very interesting mission! And thanks williefromwi!! Means a lot!
Hi Alok! Moths are arthropods, so you could throw them in that category! Also, great series of uploads during a great week for them :)
Awesome snake!
Thanks andrewhuynh for the ID!
This could be assigned to the Urban Biodiversity mission!
Thanks for the help, khryz14!
Aaron, it's definitely a blast! Thanks for all the comments!!
Eastern all the way. This (http://srelherp.uga.edu/snakes/thasir.ht...) website shows their checkered coloration....whoops! I'm sorry, didn't mean to lead astray! I didn't even know there were that many types to being with. Thanks for the lesson!!
Hey MichelleWallin, looks like this picture was already online. Not really the point of Project Noah to just repost pictures.

more ghost plant :) it's one of my favorites! It doesn't have chlorophyll like most plants, that's why it's white. It's also parasitic.
