I agree with eastern newt but I did more searching, do you think it might be the subspecies of central newt? The orange dots don't seem to be fully encired

I'll be sure to remember that, I hadn't heard that before. I uploaded a picture from when i saw him again later that night, it had been raining so all the dirt had been washed off.

That's a cicada shell but I'm not sure what species of cicada. Very nice find!

i looked at that link you gave david and i do see that narrow white strip on the end of the tail, i will further investigate haha
