We were fortunate to experience an irruption of these magnificent birds, here in Southeastern Pa. (and beyond). I was able to see 3 different birds. It also provided a great opportunity to study them. This is a link to the studies being done http://www.projectsnowstorm.org/

According to Audubon Wildflower App Lupinus polyphyllus is Blue-pod Lupine and it's range is in the Northwest, this spotting is in Rhode Island. Could this be something else?
