I always have my camera at the ready for those 'you never know what you are going to see' shots.
'Oh what a big beak you have'. Lovely spotting.
There are a lot of these in Turkey also, they are often used as ground cover plants.

It looks a bit like a Robber Fly.

It looks a lot like some kind of Cherry blossom, not sure if it is an ornamental cherry tree being in a park or an eating cherry. Hope this helps.

Well done on getting these photos, these are a regular visitor to our garden here in Turkey, but I have never been able to get a decent photo.
