Thanks for your detailed explanation. after reviewing the photos, Gryllodes sigillatus seemed like a perfect match. Also, I didn't know how to tell female from male crickets, thanks for the interesting fact! By the way your were right, I believed form the time I first found it that it wasn't native, it just didn't match the other crickets I've seen in the are.
