Really cool spider. I think I have seen these around the lilypads that grow in our marsh. I would never have realized there was such a thing as a fishing spider. I love this site. I learn so much.
I saw a bunch of these munching on a dead mouse once. I had never even knew these existed. Thanks for the i.d. I never knew what they were.

I saw one as well. I think mine was laying eggs, too.
I have been looking up wood wasps and sawflies. The markings are way different from the photos I saw of wood wasps, but the wings are folded like wood wasps, and the stinger is similar.
Can't imagine what it is. I thought it was maybe a type of lacewing, but nope, the shape is right but the wing is not. Hope somebody can help out.
