Thanks! I was relieved to see that it was not a rattle snake. And happy that I could photograph this snake from a distance with enough room for it and for me.
Thank you Anne! I updated my spotting. I appreciate your help in this ID. I'm am not so great with bird ID's, but I love spotting them and photographing them.
Thanks for the ID, Jellis. I updated my spotting.
Great photo, Ava. Torrey Pines Guy Flemming trail is my favorite of all time trails. It's got everything. Cliffs, Ocean, Pines, sand stone patterns and great birds, flowers and insects. Fantastic place.
Great series! Thanks for posting

Thanks! I was walking with a friend and called it a "freaky looking duck" once I got home and viewed the photo I realized it was more of a wading bird. The grasses in this pond were recently cut, so I suspect this Sora has been there longer than I've known. I updated my friend on the real name of the bird. Love project noah for that.
Looks like a great blue heron. Awesome birds, so prehistoric looking. Welcome to Project Noah.
I think it's a weasel. I see them too, in So. Cal while hiking. Great photo as weasels are so fast and hard to capture. Awesome! Looks like he got a tasty snack with the snake.
Welcome to project noah!!
