Oh yes, i almost forgot. there are two amazing books available in SA that pertain to this, the "Insectlopedia" and the "GOGGO guide" which you would find most useful. Both these books are authored by Erik Holm.
Hi Smith's Zoo. Just to let you know, in line with your mission "Insects of the Western Cape", spiders are not in the class Insecta, they belong to the class Arachnida, of the order Araneae. It would be great if you could create another mission titled Arachnids of the western cape to include Scorpions, spiders, harvester men, mites and ticks. Or alternatively the Phylum Arthropoda would include all the classes that people deem to be "insects", that being class Insecta, class Arachnida and so forth. take a look at http://www.entomology.umn.edu/cues/4015/... for a better idea.
