A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Alex I believe that you are correct. I believed it to be an a type of orchid cactus so this is a pleasant surprise. Thank you.
Wonderful pictures! They are really cool looking.
LivanEscudero you are right on the money. I am convinced that the burrow that I have the pictures of are defiantly from a Gopher Tortoise. Thank you so much for thinking of my picture and identifying it for me.
I adore spiders. This is a great picture.
Wow! How absolutely beautiful!
Lovely picture Nuwan. It actually looks like my tattoo and I mean that in a wonderful way. The symbolism of the water lily beginning it's existence from the bottom of a pond surrounded by mud and darkness and then growing towards the light to soak in the sun. Many of us that have gone through "dark" periods and have grown and moved to the" light" and start to thrive think very highly of the humble yet stunning Water Lily! Thank you again for such incredible photos
Hi Malcom Wilton-Jones, Jemma, LivanEscudero and akereemo245,
Thank you for the suggestions and wonderful comments. Malcom, I have reclassified the picture to the "Signs of Wildlife" mission. I am still new around here and am trying to figure it out. This is a great site and I am having fun learning as I go. LivanEscudero has a good point on the burrow being possibly from another animal. I do believe it is from a Gopher Tortoise but will have to double check with my Mother. She has seen the tortoise so that is how I am aware that it does not belong to another critter. Jemma, I will double check with my Mother to verify as to what type of tortoise it is so you don't drive yourself nuts! lol -Kelly
Beautiful. I have a Job's Tear's Rosary. I was curious what the plant looked like. Now I know! Thank you.
