New growth leaves often have a lovely pink coloration and then mature to green. Lovely photo.

I'm not certain on the ID. I've never seen this plant reported growing in Chiapas and the leaf usually has three lobes, not five or more. Perhaps a mutation?

They are entirely real caterpillars. No, they are not poisonous but they do smell pretty funny.
