A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
I'm not a scientist, but always had a passion for the natural world. Looking forward to sharing this hobby with like-minded individuals.

Sign In to follow@SukanyaDatta, Yes they do; it's nice to sit out front and see what critter drops by, from insects to these cuties.
Vina Medenilla, thank you for asking. Yes, you may use my photo for the article.
Thank you all, it’s always a pleasure photographing nature and sharing it here with all of you. Check out this other spotting to se them in action.

I think it’s a Brown Snake from the black stripes near the ears, I’m thinking the Texas Brown subspecies, one of 3 found in Michigan.

If it’s not this same species, must be a close relative. These are related or kinds of wild carrots.

Thank you. They are impressive looking.
Appreciated. It was fun capturing these guys. I love that to our eyes they look to have a very awkward bird shape, specially that weird bill, yet when you see them in action they are perfectly adapted for what they do.
Thanks. LOTS of pictures over two days were involved. Hahahaha... But they are awesome to watch in action. I’m guessing that in this environment they must eat mostly needlefish which are about the only thing always swimming on the surface. It looks like it caught one in the last pic.
