ID looks good to me! They are brighter in color when fresh. https://www.mushroomexpert.com/phlebia_i...
Hi Lisa! Beautiful photos! One thing that some rangers noted was that the description seemed copied from another source. We prefer to see personal notes on our spottings with reference links in the link fields if people want to learn more. In the habitat section we like to see the habitat in which you found this particular specimen, so we can track habitat changes that take place and help to make sure the correct habitats are made available for species in decline. I have been loving your photos, and look forward to hearing more about your personal observations on them!
Thanks Tukup! We saw 8-10 bears on this trip, and a few beds. They are thriving here. No matter how many I see though, it is always awesome to see them.
Covered in Pixie Cup Lichens (Cladonia sp.) if you are interested.
Interesting.. I have never seen a puffball do this.. I do agree with taking a second look at the ID since my first idea when I saw this was Lycoperdon marginatum.
I agree Mark, so many interesting things. We were only planning on an hour or so of looking at stuff in the microscope, and I ended up staying up late and looking for about three hours, most of it from just one drop of the concentrated seawater! It was amazing how much was going on. As for the ID, I have no idea! I know next to nothing about plankton.
Beautiful capture and amazing colors! Could you tell us a little about where you found it in the habitat section? And any of your observations of the lizard are also encouraged in the description field.
