It looks like a Black Vine Weevil, but I'm unsure as to whether or not they inhabit India.

I wasn't wearing my glasses when I posted this. Hence why it was mistakenly categorized as an amphibian. Thank you for the info, however. :-)

Anoles will change coloration from grey to bright green to blend in with their surroundings.
