@Mark Ridgway you're right! I found a few live ones outside just now and they're a dull grey, quite unlike the pink dead ones.
There's loads of eucalyptus around India that was imported as far back as the mid 1800s when India was still a British colony. In fact, eucalyptus trees and eucalyptus oil are called Nilgiri trees and Nilgiri oil locally and has become synonymous with the district. I wonder if they've gone unnoticed since then!
