snail egg mass, maybe??? BIG maybe?
It's a species of Trogon. There are several, and I'm not certain 100% which one.
Long-tailed skipper (?) feeding on Ironweed.
These startlings are wearing their brand-new feathers. Most people are used to seeing the shiny blackish-bluish version. As the feathers wear down, the white tips wear off, leaving the dark color behind.
It's too bad these birds are so aggressively invasive. (They are from europe.) They are beautiful, and fun to observe. But they can be nasty to our native species. :(
A very cute pudgy squirrel. Not sure of species. Anyone?
I can see a fuzzy abdomen, which makes it a bumblebee rather than a carpenter; carpenters have a bare abdomen which makes it look shiny.
As to the exact species, I'm not sure. But I can say it IS a bumble.
Durian shell. Smell it. It may still have that "distinct" smell.
Hmmm... Goldfinch eh..... (looking in book).... you may be right. Possibly female? Too bad the head's turned away.
