The Eastern Spinebill sometimes hovers like a hummingbird when feeding on the nectar from flowers. Most Australian honeyeaters feed on flowers from a perched position. (Birds in Backyards)

Not sure Argybee. My uncle said that it was either the parent feeding the baby or it could be mating behaviour which would make the bird being feed a female adult. I know the bird being fed was making quite a lot of noise.

I would love to give you a huge hug Noah Citizen. Thank you soooo much for your help, it isn't often that I need help with bird ID. But you have given your all for this one. Hats off. Here we go :P
