Thanks! I've updated the details & the map location too. It was found in Tioman island on Tekek Beach.
Wonderful, Jolly! Do post up your 'rescues' of other caterpillars & thank you again for sharing the way it's done! I'm going to rescue those on the island when they emerge. Cheerio!
Dandoucette, books here are incredibly expensive & reference books are very hard to find because importers don't see the market for them.
Thank you for the suggested ID, NuwanChathuranga!
I think there are bugs in the Project Noah Android app! I distinctively added the name but somehow, it didn't appear. Fixed it on my computer now. The specific features you mentioned are very interesting! I can only look it up when I'm not on the move. Thank you for your explanation! :)
Thanks! I will do!
Please tell me how to do that because I want to rescue some moths when the itchy caterpillars emerge at the resort again!
Just added two more pictures to this. Note the other specie next to this moth. It was a field day for me to encounter so many at one place.
Thank you, jgorneau, for the suggestion! Indeed it should be it! The islanders would have a spring of caterpillars that cause great itch should anyone come into contact with them.
How do I check? I've been buying butterfly books but nowhere sells anything comprehensive. I'm hoping Project Noah can replace my book-buying.....
