I am less than confident when id'ing hawks. Thanks so much for the id and for explaining it.

He was a little intimidating, but extremely interesting! We were gathering for a birthday party and he was right in harms way. We tried to deter him from our walking path, but he seemed to be on a mission.

Thanks for all your ID suggestions! They were all a lot of help!

Thanks! I thought her curiosity was sweet, but I was hesitant to post it. A picture can be read so many different ways and while my dog is great, at "leave it", I didn't want to come across as someone who condones domesticated animals abusing nature.
Thanks again (and for all you do).

Thanks so much for the confirmation and the information! I'm not very confident ID'ing these.

Thanks. This is the second time I've had a spotting of a female. And this is the second time I've needed help ID'ing. My goal is to not do it a third time!!
Thanks again!

Thanks! I was so excited that he didn't mind me taking his picture. In fact, he still hasn't moved from his spot.
