Moth Week 2014
Keep it Steady
I would say this is a species of Sawfly (Symphyta) ,but I do not know which species , I'm afraid.
Many thanks Tukup .
Thankyou everyone for your kind comments.
This is the sub-species Lanius cristatus lucionensis , sometimes called the Phillippines Shrike.
Once it was the National bird of the Phillippines
This is a very variable species.
I think you are spot-on with Lophochorista sp , Lophochorista lesteraria looks like a good match.
Beautiful moth and image.
Very similar to Orange Wasp Moth ---Cosmosoma ethodaea , maybe someone can confirm or disagree .
