A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Outdoors adventurer, photography enthusiast, nature lover. Very excited to finally learn what I have been taking photos of over the years!

Sign In to followThat looks like a good guess, I'll see if anyone else can confirm. I'm struggling with all these female and immature birds. Males are just so much easier to ID!
Thanks Nathan! I assume this is an immature with the streaked underparts and speckled head?
Thanks Mac. Amazing bird life over at Little Desert. Only halfway through my spottings :-)
So it's a lizard not a snake! Thanks Mac.
I was very lucky with this one - even had the dog jumping all over me while I was knelt on the ground trying to get the close up and it still didn't move!
Thanks for the ID! I've just discovered I also have photos of a young Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater so I'll upload those soon.
I had no idea we had these here either Lori! It was just by luck that I was hiding from the rain under a tree and spotted a flash of red against the green leaves.
Unfortunately not Gary - they stick to the east coast.
Yeah I feel for you Lori, this one was really loud and very persistent (thankfully not near our house - although we have Cockatoos, Ravens and Pigeons that like to make a lot of noise late at night and early morning!) I was however, very excited to see it because it's a completely new spotting for me :-)
Thanks Lori. It does make it easier when there is only one to choose from :-)
Thanks everyone. This was a very special spot for me. I've never seen this beautiful bird before. It was a friend that spotted it - 3 of us had walked straight past and my 4th friend said it climbed out of a hole in a tree right next to him and sat on this branch. All 4 of us were able to stand and watch only a few metres away while he posed a few times before flying off.
